The Mullis Family Circus

Welcome to our blog! I have started referring to our family as a constant three ring circus. With four children, separated by six years, two dogs, a husband who works A LOT, and a mom who never has time to finish anything and always has multiple things going at the same time, it's amazing this blog ever gets updated at all!! However, I do try to keep it as updated as possible because I LOVE to look at it to see what we were doing in the past, and I like having a place that all of our friends and family can reference to keep up with us. Bookmark us and check back to see what we're up to. With this crew, it is always something! (Please excuse typos! One day I'm going to go back and fix them! I'm always in such a hurry to post that I usually don't proofread. The English major in me dies every time I go through and see all of the typos, but the busy mom in me says, "I'll fix it when I have time!" So, look for corrections in , let's say, 20 years or so!!!)

Balloon Race

We have had a busy week. None of us has quite been able to shake this cold we’ve been dealing with for over a week now. Nonetheless, we’ve done a lot of playing and some other things along. Corbin gave his big presentation on Friday. He said it went well. His vacation has begun, and we know it will pass by so fast. While Corbin was at work, I took the kids to my old school’s Homecoming pep rally. I took the camera, but I accidentally left it in the car, so there are no pictures! Ellie Ruth did NOT like the loud noise. So, some of the teachers took care of her outside of the pep rally. It was quite the sacrifice for them, I’m sure!:):) Levi loved it. He took the whole thing in. He also loved my old principal, Mr. Boozer. He went right to him and let him hold him for at least 20 minutes! He got to wear the Homecoming King crown before it was awarded at the end of the pep rally. He was so cute! He loved running around the empty gym when the pep rally was over too.
Corbin worked on things on Saturday, and we watched some football. Hooray! Corbin won in the fantasy football group for the week. On Sunday, we drove to Natchez for the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race. It wasn’t quite what we expected, but it was a beautiful day, and we all enjoyed being outside. It definitely would have been better had I not forgotten Levi’s shoes and had the wind died down so that the balloons could actually race. But, at least we visited historic Natchez, Mississippi during our tenure here!
We’re now preparing for the long ride home. We’re dreading packing and the drive, but we know we’ll have fun when we get there!

Ellie Ruth is ready for her trip to Natchez!

We're overlooking the Mississippi River.

Levi is enjoying his snow cone!

We are waiting for the balloons!

There it goes!
