The Mullis Family Circus

Welcome to our blog! I have started referring to our family as a constant three ring circus. With four children, separated by six years, two dogs, a husband who works A LOT, and a mom who never has time to finish anything and always has multiple things going at the same time, it's amazing this blog ever gets updated at all!! However, I do try to keep it as updated as possible because I LOVE to look at it to see what we were doing in the past, and I like having a place that all of our friends and family can reference to keep up with us. Bookmark us and check back to see what we're up to. With this crew, it is always something! (Please excuse typos! One day I'm going to go back and fix them! I'm always in such a hurry to post that I usually don't proofread. The English major in me dies every time I go through and see all of the typos, but the busy mom in me says, "I'll fix it when I have time!" So, look for corrections in , let's say, 20 years or so!!!)

Ellie Ruth's First Soccer Game

Here she is before the first big game.  She was excited at this point.

The game was delayed about 45 minutes.  We got there at 11:00 since the game was supposed to start at 11:15.  We did not get home until 1:00.  So, we had to wait a very long time to start.  The kids were too hot before the game began.  You can see the umbrella huddle they stayed in when they weren't playing.  After the first half, they had a hard time making anybody go in.  It really was miserable.

Amazingly, the heat didn't faze Gray.  As long as he had something to eat, he was happy.  I don't know how I could have managed if I had had to hold him.  It was just tooooooooo HOT!

Grandmama brought Madelyn to see Ellie Ruth's first game.  It's too bad it was so hot and uneventful.  She enjoyed sitting under the umbrella, though.

Shockingly, Levi was not too happy about the heat:))))  He managed to find the shade behind the stroller before I got the umbrealla set up.

Here she is with several of her teammates.  Can you see the difference between the four and five year olds?

Here she is again before the game.

Ellie Ruth's first soccer game was a bit of a dissapointment.  She would NOT run to save her life.  She just meandered behind the group following the ball, if that.  In her defense, it was super hot and she did have to wait a long time before the game started.  We are hoping for a better showing at the upcoming games, which are in the evening.  Hopefully, they will start on time and have more temperate conditions, thus making it a better experience for all!!!!
