The Mullis Family Circus

Welcome to our blog! I have started referring to our family as a constant three ring circus. With four children, separated by six years, two dogs, a husband who works A LOT, and a mom who never has time to finish anything and always has multiple things going at the same time, it's amazing this blog ever gets updated at all!! However, I do try to keep it as updated as possible because I LOVE to look at it to see what we were doing in the past, and I like having a place that all of our friends and family can reference to keep up with us. Bookmark us and check back to see what we're up to. With this crew, it is always something! (Please excuse typos! One day I'm going to go back and fix them! I'm always in such a hurry to post that I usually don't proofread. The English major in me dies every time I go through and see all of the typos, but the busy mom in me says, "I'll fix it when I have time!" So, look for corrections in , let's say, 20 years or so!!!)

Getting Ready for Halloween

We had fun preparing for Halloween this year. We made cookies, practiced trick or treating, and (of course) carved a pumkin. The kids were so much fun this year. They seemed to really "get it." They were so cute!

This is Levi enjoying eating the candy while he decorated his cookie. He did such a great job. He didn't make a mess anywhere or anything. Ellie Ruth, on the other hand had icing everywhere and NO candy on her cookie. She just ate it all and then ate the plain cookie. I'd like to say it's just her age, but I think it will probably be the story of our lives!! Regardless, they had a great time decorating their Halloween cookies.

This was definitely a fun activity. You can see the deliberation with which Levi was arranging his cookie decorations--- and you can see Ellie Ruth enjoying her candy.

We were a little late, but carve a pumpkin we did. Levi was so interested. It was too cute to see him commenting on every facet of the process. Luckily, Corbin is VERY patient with him.

He was pretty excited about the final outcome.

These pictures are a little out of sequence. this is the initial drawing part. Levi didn't really know what was going on, but he said cheese for the picture. He was happy about getting to wear the sticker that came on the pumpkin for check out. You can see it on the B of his shirt. It's amazing what will thrill a two year old!
