We were so excited when Lawton , Beth, and their kids arrived on Friday. Thomas was so excited about Christmas, and Levi loved playing with “Thommyyyssss.”
Christmas with the Malones was fun, as always. We really appreciate all of our gifts from Grandpa and Granny and the gift swap. We enjoyed seeing everyone. It’s too bad that Levi was in such a very foul mood! Thanks Aunt Kathy for holding Eliie Ruth for so long. That was the beginning of a dramatic turn around for her. She actually started letting other people hold her without screaming!! Note to the Malones: The pictures I took are on my sister’s camera; be on the lookout for your pictures once she downloads them and sends them to me! The same goes for the Smiths. I only have pictures of Christmas Day and after at the moment!
Christmas at Grandmama Smith’s house was a great treat. Santa’s arrival and ALL of the gifts the kids got there were so fun; Levi really enjoyed tearing into them. (Thanks Beth for helping him as I tended to other things!) The tags kind of got away before I was able to see who gave what to the kids, so thanks to everyone who brought them. Aunt Fay, did you make the stockings? Anyway, it was neat to see all of the creative things people gave the kids. Thanks to Myra for Ellie Ruth’s toy. She really likes it (Levi too). I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the big help Sandy and Clint were in holding Ellie Ruth ALL day for me! Thank you! I couldn’t believe she was happy for that long—and awake some of the time too! As for the variety show, that was lots of fun. I never knew Uncle Sammy was such a gifted comedian!!
On Monday, the Mullises came to visit us in Jackson as Corbin arrived from Mississippi. Daddy made ribs, and they were great. Mrs. Pam brought delicious sides and her famous cheesecake. It was a great meal. It was so nice to have both of our families together in one place at one time. We exchanged gifts and got some neat things. The growth charts for the kids from Jessica and Mark were really neat. Corbin and I loved his sweatshirt and my calendar that the Lambs gave us too. The gift certificate and knife Corbin received were great gifts, too. I loved my Christmas boxes. Levi and Ellie Ruth are really going to enjoy the table, tricycle, and the tee ball set. We are anxious to get all of them put together. Entertainment for the evening was the awards ceremony for our fantasy football league Timothy and Hannah did a magnificent job of putting on a real show for us! It was all a lot of fun.
Santa was really good to all of us at the Haley household on Christmas day. Corbin’s big gift was an IPod Nano, and Misty’s was a Roomba. Jointly they received two other big gifts: a Canon Rebel XT Digital Camera (which we are SOOOOOOOOOO excited about! We, too, are going to have GREAT pictures now!) and a dual dvd player for the car (this is invaluable on roadtrips!) The kids got several toys and books, but mostly they got one big gift together: a Power Wheels Jeep!! Levi is almost able to do it himself, although he preferred to ride with his cousin. Our other gifts were great too. We loved the washer game from the Stewarts. Also, Ellie Ruth’s dress was too cute, and Levi is going to love his toy. Hannah and Timothy gave the kids toys they both really like. Levi is going to love crawling through and rolling around in his tunnel, and Ellie Ruth already cries when she loses her jingly keys! Corbin and I are so looking forward to our free babysitting and night on the town gift from them. We can’t wait!
We had a good trip home, and Corbin is back at work. Thanks to everyone for a great holiday this year! We look forward to another great one next year when we’re back in Georgia!!
