The Mullis Family Circus

Welcome to our blog! I have started referring to our family as a constant three ring circus. With four children, separated by six years, two dogs, a husband who works A LOT, and a mom who never has time to finish anything and always has multiple things going at the same time, it's amazing this blog ever gets updated at all!! However, I do try to keep it as updated as possible because I LOVE to look at it to see what we were doing in the past, and I like having a place that all of our friends and family can reference to keep up with us. Bookmark us and check back to see what we're up to. With this crew, it is always something! (Please excuse typos! One day I'm going to go back and fix them! I'm always in such a hurry to post that I usually don't proofread. The English major in me dies every time I go through and see all of the typos, but the busy mom in me says, "I'll fix it when I have time!" So, look for corrections in , let's say, 20 years or so!!!)

Corbin and I took a much needed vacation to the Cayman Islands aboard the Celebrity Century this January. Georgia was experiencing record lows, so it was nice to be headed south. The problem was, they were experiencing record lows, too. So, it was pretty chilly, especially at night on the boat, the whole time, except in Georgetown, Grand Cayman-- where it was actually very nice and tropical. It was Corbin's first cruise, and we had a really good time.

Here's a picture of our ship, the century. We were on thelevel just above the boats, with a balcony. Our room was on the other side. We are docked in Georgetown, Grand Cayman, with three other cruise ships (you can see the Carnival behind our boat).

While in Grand Cayman, we went to the Turtle Farm. They had some gigantic turtles there.

We passed Hemingway's house on our trek by foot to the southernmost point in Key West. We didn't visit, but we thought we'd get a picture.

This was the view from our balcony one day at sea.

This is me in the town of Hell in the Caymans. These rock formations truly look like they could be found there-- ugly!

We had breakfast delivered to our room most mornings, and we ate on our balcony. It was so cold that you had to have on a jacket or robe, or you'd be just too cold. The one problem was that if you tried to eat out there in port, the birds would dive bomb you for food, so sometimes we had to take it back inside!

Corbin got his picture made at the beginning of Highway 1 in Key West, FL.

Here we are at the Southernmost Point. We had to wait in line about 10 minutes to get this picture. It's the only thing we did in Key West-- walk there, take our picture, and walk back! But it was a pretty day and a relaxing walk-- albeit colder than we would have liked.

I know it's hard to tell, but that's Cuba behind Corbin. We sailed pretty close to it. We couldn't see it on our way down, but on our return trip, we sat on the deck and watched it go by.
A special thanks to all who kept the kids and took care of things while we were gone. We had a great time, and it would not have been possible without you!
